If you thought it was great to be in Jesus’ hand, how much more secure are you now in the Father’s hand? There are some who oppose the idea of eternal security or the doctrine of Persecution of the Saints. Some think that telling someone they are secure right now gives people false hope or leads to laziness in the Christian life.
One of the great comforts is that we have a salvation that is given and ensured by God. We cannot be snatched out of either Christ’s hand or the Father’s. We cannot fall out of their hands either. The same Gospel that initially saves us brings us all the way home to God and eternal life. Paul says in Romans 8 that God’s people are called and justified and will be glorified. We have the spirit! We have union with Christ! We have God and salvation forever and ever; Praise God!
