Jesus tells them again that He is the door. He explains this further. It is through Jesus that you are saved, come into the church, and find spiritual food. The false teachers just come to use you. Jesus comes that you might have life. Not just life, but even abundant life in Him.
We see here Jesus contrasting Himself as a true teacher against the false teachers. The difference is not just in theory or thought, but in the practical and experiential results of faith. False teachers leave you used and abused and still dead in yourself, but Jesus brings you real life. He feeds you so you grow into abundant life.
Do you have this life in Jesus? Are you being fed in Jesus? Are you having abundant life in Him? Jesus the Good Shepherd protects, feeds, and causes His flock to have abundant life. The place we experience this is within the local church. It is in local congregations that Jesus cares for His people. For this reason, you need to belong to a local church and be active. It is a blessing from God.
