Jesus is clear with Martha. He is about to raise Lazarus from the dead. Martha is not sure what Jesus means. She believes in the general resurrection from the dead on the last day, but she does not understand what Jesus is about to do in raising Lazarus from the dead. Again we see this idea of belief mingled with either doubt or a lack of understanding.
What is clear here is that Jesus has power to raise the dead. This is not a figurative power, but a literal power to raise what is dead to life. He will do it with Lazarus! He will do it with Himself after three days dead. He will do it for you on the great last day.
Understand the power of your God. He can raise you from the dead. He will raise you and all people from the dead. Do you believe this promise?
