John continues to build on the supernatural power of Jesus by next giving the account of Lazarus being raised from the dead. Lazarus and his friends were very special to Jesus. He was the brother to Martha and Mary. Mary is the one who poured out a bottle of expensive perfume and wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair. These were people Jesus loved and cared for.
It might strike us as odd that Jesus does not rush to Lazarus when He hears that he is ill, but Jesus is aware of what will take place. It will be another sign that will bring glory to His calling, power, and purpose on earth.
Do you trust God with His plan? All things are working for good according to the Bible. Do you trust that God will work for His glory and your good in your life?
