Every year it seems if I want to do something I have to plan to do it. The casual time I once had is no longer available. Many of you will have read or heard the illustration from Steven Covey about Big Rocks in your schedule. Basically it means you put the important things in your schedule/life first. If you do not, the little things will leave little room for the Big things.
Prayer needs to be a Big Rock in every Christians life, but it is one of the hardest to get in our schedule. The example of Jesus is an excellent one to follow. He arose early and went and prayed ( Mark 1:35). For some this will work and for others it will not. Some pray better at night and others during the day. It really does not matter when you pray, only that you are praying daily and growing in your prayers.
We need God! We need Him everyday! We need Him every moment! We need to keep an open line of prayer. This is what Paul is getting at in this passage. If you need to work on your prayer life, then make it a priority in 2017.
