The Word of God should be the light that shows us the way to go in life. It is the Word of God that shows us salvation, shows us who we now are in Christ, shows us the power of God in us. The Christian must be serious about the Word of God. Many of you who grew up in the church will remember the older saints who were godly, and everyone of them knew their Bibles. Godliness and Bible knowledge cannot be separated.
Have you ever read the entire Bible? If you have not, why not? This is God’s Word to you! It is important not just as a rote outward exercise. No, we are to be hiding the Word of God in our hearts. We are to be studying the Word to understand it and apply it. If you want to be strong in Christ, you need to be strong in His Word. In this week’s Pastors Corner there are several suggestions to help you read the Bible. Make sure you are growing in the Word this coming year.
