These are familiar words of comfort. Throughout the time of the Christian church these verses have been read to comfort and encourage a dying saint. Why are these verses so helpful? It is because they point us to our hope!
Heart trouble is common to all people. No matter who you are in this life it can affect you. Heart trouble affects all people over every stage and level. What is the hope that cures this common problem? It is faith!
Jesus says to believe in God and in Him. Faith in God through Jesus Christ is the key to over coming the troubled heart. It will be key for Jesus’ disciples over the next few days as they see Him crucified. It is key to us as we face the trials of this life and even death itself.
