John 13:30

Judas was fully engaged in his plan to betray Jesus. He did not linger. The words of Jesus did not give him pause. He immediately went out to betray Jesus. John ends this section with, “ and it was night.” It is significant that Judas when out into the night to do his evil plans. This is the darkness of the night of betrayal. We see that Paul in giving us the words of institution of the Lord's supper wrote: "On the night when he was betrayed" (1 Corinthians 11:23). Jesus warned them about this approaching darkness in John 9:4, 11:10, 12:35). What we have here is a war between good and evil, darkness and light, God and the devil. We are coming to great day of Christ's victory when He will defeat sin and death.
There is another day of victory coming when the darkness of this world will be defeated forever by the light of Christ. Then Jesus will come back and bring the fullness of His kingdom.

Consider: John 8:12
